FUCT — the creator

The creator.

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Welcome to my world. My name is Mark Warness, and once you meet me, you won't forget me.

I'm fairly new to the tech scene — but definitely not the creative one. I spent the first decade of adulthood diving deep into life, chasing every conceivable curiosity in the process of discovering exactly the person I wanted to be. Professionally, some would call me a jack of all trades: finance to medicine, construction to entertainment, hospitality to interior design. I'd have to agree. I left no stone unturned. And when I stumbled into fullstack engineering and design, I knew the searching was finally over... and the rest of my life was about to begin.

Then life did what life does.

A car accident almost took one of my kidneys. Three weeks later — body still healing — I lost something the surgeons couldn't reach. Not just a girlfriend. My best friend. My soulmate. My other half. Over in one night, with no explanation and no closure. Just a list of questions that will never be answered, no matter how many years I spend asking them.

It shattered me.

And here's what nobody tells you about that kind of break: your brain, trying to protect you from ever feeling it again, starts building walls without asking your permission. For me that meant distancing. Struggling to let anyone get close. Going numb to the whole idea of love. The protection becomes its own prison — and you're the one who ends up serving the sentence.

I handled the pain the way too many of us quietly do: I self-medicated. Not because I wanted to get high, but because feeling nothing was better than feeling that, every single day.

And yet — strangely — the shattering turned out to be a good thing.

When everything I'd built my life around was gone, I was finally standing in the one place I'd spent a decade avoiding: alone, with nothing left to work on but myself. The worst thing that ever happened to me handed me the assignment I'd been dodging my whole life.

If you've been there, you know there's no montage for what comes next. Getting back up was the slowest, least glamorous fight of my life. But I got up. I ran the Philadelphia Marathon. And I got clean.

FEBRUARY 10, 2025 — MY SOBER DATE.
I wish I could say it's been easy. It's been worth it.

I'm facing the pain now instead of blocking it out. Moving forward instead of holding on. Living for me. I stopped wishing my problems would go away and started building the strength to take them on. And that foundation held when it mattered most — it carried me through my father's death without falling off the wagon. There is no version of the old me that survives that sober. This one did.

I don't claim to have the answers to your problems. But maybe what I've learned can help.

That's what FUCT is. Overcoming obstacles and forging a path through. A community of people who are either inspired for change or desperate for it — both are welcome, and I've been both. Wherever you are on your journey, there's a praxeology here to move you forward: real, repeatable ways out, shared by people who are fuct or have been fuct, helping others get out the way they actually got out.

Once you meet me, you won't forget me. Once you find this place, I hope you won't need to forget where it is — just pass it on.
